People are starting to notice and ask questions , about the black flags that are increasingly appearing at demonstrations, and even being placed atop embassies angry protestors in Egypt and other Arab countries. These flags had previously appeared at demonstrations at Tahrir Square and other places. They were also seen in Sint Godai, before and after the recent deadly terrorist attack there in Rafah. Newspapers and other media in the region have started to notice, report and comment about it .
The spread of A Qaeda;s flag across the region. A lot of people are asking what this flag is all about. The flag may e derived from a flag from the time of the Prophet Mohamed. Which was either lack or white , and was called “Al Uqab”, which means The Hawk….
An image of the Prophet’s seal – which he would use when sending messages- was then added to the design. It says , “Mohamed , Messenger Of God”. The words, There is no God ,but God”complete the flag’s design.
This flag first appeared as the banner of a group called “Iraqi Islamic State”, which was considered the Iraqi branch of Al Qaeda. The question now is …..
How did these Al Qaeda flags become so prevalent in so many Arab countries?
Especially in countries that have always been and still are against Al Qaeda. Why are the majority of people in these countries simply allowing the most extreme of political actors to take center stage, guiding the course of events and portraying this particular image of Arabs around the world?
